THE OLD FLAME OF BRESCIA VS. PARMA: DANIELE BONERA

Parma, 24 July 2020 – Daniele Bonera is the Old Flame of Brescia vs. Parma, the Crociati’s next clash in Serie A, scheduled for 17:15 CEST on Saturday.

Born in 1981, former centre-back Bonera started out in the youth set-up at Brescia, before making his first-team debut in 1999/2000, making five appearances in Serie B that season. He was given his first minutes in Serie A by the Rondinelle.

After 60 appearances at Brescia, Bonera moved to Parma in 2002. He played four seasons with the Crociati, and made a total of 115 appearances in Serie A, five in the Coppa Italia, and 19 in the UEFA Cup. He scored once during that time, with the goal coming against his boyhood club Brescia.

In 2006/07 Bonera moved to AC Milan, making a total of 201 appearances up until 2015, when he moved to Villarreal in Spain. He hung up his boots in 2019, before returning to AC Milan, where he joined the coaching staff.

Bonera made 16 appearances for his country at a senior level, having played 29 times for the Under-21s, with whom he won the the European Under-21 Championship in 2004. That same year, he won bronze with Italy’s Olympic football squad in Athens.
