PARMA CALCIO AND DANIELE FAGGIANO PART WAYS

Parma Calcio and sporting director Daniele Faggiano part ways. The Club communicates that this was a mutual agreement between the two parties.

Since 7 December 2016, the day that Faggiano became sporting director, numerous stories have been written, which will go down in the Club’s history. Both promotions and both successful battles against relegation are, without a doubt, closely linked to his name.

“We now take seperate paths,” said Club president Pietro Pizzarotti, “but his impact and our frendship will remain. Throughout these last four years, we’ve had a very special relationship with the sporting director. Straightforward, intense, sincere. This is one of the factors that has allowed us to grow. When Daniele informed us that he wanted a new challenge and a role with greater responsibility, although it’s with great sadness, we completely understood his choice. We wish him all the best for his future work, in the knowledge that his work will always be a part of Parma’s history.”

“This Club, from the owners to the staff members, is a family for me, so it wasn’t an easy choice,” Faggiano said, “but after a bit of reflection, I made the right one for me and the people, with whom I’ve shared these years of work. I think it’s only right that we say our goodbyes at the end of the season, after this long road we’ve walked together, which has been full of obstacles but also full of joy. When Parma first called, I didn’t think about it in terms of work, but about what it would give me from an emotional point of view. I said yes without hesitation, because I absolutely believed that there was a base for what we went on to achieve, season after season. After four very intense years, I understood that I needed a new challenge, because I feel that I’ve give all of myself, and that I wouldn’t be able to find it in me to do the job to the best of my ability. I communicated this to the Nuovo Inizio members with great transparency that I have made my decision and that they gave me the greatest sign that this is a family, which I’ll always carry in my heart.”

Parma Calcio 1913 will announce their choice for the new Sporting Director in the coming days.
