Parma, 10 July 2019 – It’s a return and Alberto Grassi is a Parma player once again. Let’s take a look back at the midfielder’s career with our Focus Crociato.

The midfielder was born in 1995 and started out at Augusta Lumezzane before joining the Atalanta academy. For the Nerazzurri, he won the Under-18 league title in 2012/13 before moving up to their Primavera side.

Grassi made his Serie A debut on 22 November 2014 in the home match against Roma before playing a further two games that season. In the following season, he founded more space and made 13 appearances. He was signed by Napoli who sent him back on loan to Bergamo in the 2016/17 season, where Grassi made 18 appearances, scoring one goal against Pescara which was his first in professional football. The season before last, Grassi played for Spal on loan from Napoli, making 28 appearances and scoring three goals. 

Last season, Alberto was a Crociati player while on loan from Napoli. He made his league debut against Udinese, assisting the first goal by Inglese. In total, he made six appearances before an injury sidelined him until the penultimate game of the season against Fiorentina in which Parma mathematically secured survival.

Grassi has a lot of experience of youth international football with Italy that began in 2011 with the Under-16 and he made 12 appearances for the Under-21 side, playing at the 2017 U-21 European Championship in Poland.
