Parma, 3 July 2020 – Giuseppe Rossi is the old flame of Parma vs. Fiorentina, which kicks off this Sunday at 19:30 CEST at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Born in the USA to parents of Italian origin, he arrived in Parma at the age of 12 to join our youth sector. In 2004, he was bought by Manchester United and went on to play 14 times for the Red Devils, before being loaned to Newcastle United (11 games) and then back to Parma (19 games and nine goals). He was a great help in the Crociati’s successful relegation battle in 2007

The season after, he returned to United before being sold to Spanish outfit Villarreal CF. He stayed in Spain until 2013, racking up a total of 136 appearances and 54 goals. Rossi then moved to Fiorentina, where he stayed until 2016. He went on to make 33 appearances and scored 16 goals for La Viola.

After his time in Florence, he returned to Spain for stints with Levante and Celta Vigo, before making his way back to Italy again, this time to join Genoa. He has since returned to the country of his birth, where he remains today. Rossi is currently playing for MLS side Real Salt Lake.
