Parma, 31 January 2020 – With Cagliari vs. Parma just around the corner, it’s time to take a look at all the statistics in our latest Match Pack.

The upcoming fixture will be the 42nd between the sides in Serie A. The Crociati’s record against the Sardinians reads as follows: 18 wins, ten draws, 13 defeats. Cagliari have won four of their last six matches against Parma in Serie A (one draw, one defeat) after not winning in the six games between the sides prior to this (three draws, three defeats).

In 39 seasons in Serie A, Cagliari had never managed to score 36 goals after 21 matchdays, their current total this campaign. Their previous record was 34 goals, which they achieved in the 2009/10 season. Cagliari have had 12 different goalscorers so far in Serie A, with Inter (14) and Verona (13) being the only sides to have done better in this regard. This is in stark contrast to 2018/19, when only ten Rossoblù players had found the net come the end of the season – the fewest in the league along with Sampdoria and SPAL. Maran’s side have converted 14.2% of their efforts on goal up to this point, with only Lazio (14.8%) having done better. The Biancocelesti (four) are the only team to have conceded fewer goals than Parma (12) in the second half of matches so far this campaign.

João Pedro has scored 13 goals this season. Since the season when Serie A returned to being a 20-team league (2004/05), only one Brazilian player has managed to do better after 21 fixtures: Adriano in 2004/05 (14 goals). João Pedro has been involved in eight of the last ten goals that Cagliari have scored in the Italian top flight (six goals and two assists), including all of the last five. The first goal that Giovanni Simeone netted in the Cagliari shirt came against Parma in September 2019. Juraj Kucka’s first goal for the Crociati came against Cagliari in last year’s return fixture in February.
