Parma, 12 August 2018 – Simone Iacoponi was disappointed when he spoke following the 1-0 home defeat against Pisa in the Coppa Italia. A goal from Zammarini eliminated the Crociati.
“Of course, there’s some regret because we didn’t want to start the season with this result and a defeat. We wanted to win and go through. We tried until the end. Now, we have to think about the upcoming season. We’ll start on Tuesday by thinking about Udinese. We’re working a lot better now, we don’t have to worry about the points deduction anymore and we’re a lot calmer. We’ve always been thinking about the pitch, now we have to do it even more because the season’s start is imminent. Udinese are waiting for us and we’re thinking about that.”
“It will be a very difficult season, we’ll have to fight for every ball because we must stay up and look to do so in any way possible. Pisa? We saw their games and knew that they were confident and in shape. They did well because they took their chances. We congratulate them. The fact that it was the first competitive match isn’t an excuse, the result was what it was because of mistakes that we made. We can’t be too dramatic about it, we have to take the good things and think of improving.”
“I think, that we have to keep working to create a compact and cohesive group that pushes in the same direction. That way, we’ll get to the result we want. I’m calm.”
